BRIEF HISTORY
Johnson
Postman
was established in 1979 by Richard A.
Johnson and John R. Postman. We began distributing
stairparts in early 1980 and, through the efforts of Mr.
Johnson and Mr. Postman, the company became the
predominant force behind the stairparts renaissance in
the Pacific Northwest. Mr. Postman retired in 1984.
In April of 1992
Johnson Postman merged with Fred Nix Stair Company,
which gave us stairway, stair component and mantel
manufacturing capabilities. This joining of forces
provided Johnson Postman an even stronger market
presence and allowed us to meet increased customer
service expectations
Mr. Johnson passed
away in December of 1995 and today the company is owned
by Pam Shafer, who joined the company in 1983, and Fred
Nix.
